http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ActionGirl
-Reaper, Artemis, Ultra Girl, Carmella and Sally. Mary Crossenberg also has a funny cameo near the end.

BadassDamsel
-Sally. Despite being kidnapped more than once, nevertheless shows how badass she is throughout the arc.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BroughtDownToBadass
-Stronghold spends the majority of the story arc powerless due to jammers in the ceiling of the prison. While he is clearly more vulnerable, he adapts quickly enough and then just starts whooping butt and taking names. Makes sense when you consider his training and that he used to get in street fights with local punks even before he got his powers.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BadassNormal
-Soooo many in this arc: Sally, Reaper, Artemis, Mary, The Ninja's, and Game Master too if you think about it considering everything he set up despite having no powers.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DarkActionGirl
-A few in the arc, but none of them emphasize this more so than Violet who gave Ultra Girl one of her greatest fights so far and forced her to tap into her real potential to win.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass
-Violet again. She's one of the most mellow villains we've seen, has outright stated she uses drugs to get high, couldn't even remember where she locked up the civilians she captured....and yet is amazingly powerful.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BewareTheNiceOnes
-The Justice Patrol. Great guys and gals, nice, sweet, etc. but if you threaten civilians they will end you.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Determinator
-Stronghold, despite the crazy number of injuries he receives, he does not give up.
--Sally and the civilians get in on this too, best emphasized during the monster fights.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AffablyEvil
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PunchClockVillain
-Violet is probably the closest we get to this in the arc. Even Game Masters mooks were more outright evil than her. She doesn't harm the civilians and even avoids killing Ultra Girl when she has a good chance at it. Even after being beaten, she tells Ultra Girl about the jammers, giving the heroes a major clue as to where Stronghold is being ketp. All that said, agreeing to work for someone like Game Master because she was bored and wanted money is still kinda dickish.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CompleteMonster
-Where to start?
--The Dolls and Torcher were very bad, but The Gentleman and Game Master were utter monsters: The Gentleman is a cannibal who has no qualms with torture or cutting up living people, and The Game Master not only employs said psycho but he set the whole arc up for money and thrills, even video taping all of it.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KickTheSonOfABitch
-The heroes don't kill. That is a rule. However, they have no qualms about beating the tar out of you if you push them too far, the beatings the above psycho's got was especially satisfying.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VillainousBreakdown
-Game Master starts off calm, collected and in control, but gradually loses it and starts freaking out when the heroes start winning and getting closer to him all without anybody dying.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ImplacableMan
-The two monster's they fight. The first one takes two whole clips of gun ammo, hits from a sledgehammer, getting cut and stabbed by knives and swords and brutal beatings galore and just kept coming. By the time it was dead they were utterly exhausted.
The second one was even more onesided, being a Hopeless Boss Fight until Stronghold's powers came back, after which it was a Curbstomp Battle.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChekhovsGun
-Waaay back when Derrick and Mariah gave Matthew his costume, they told him it could change based on his thoughts. Remembering this, Stronghold starts molding his costume into pseudo-armor. This saves his life.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BondOneLiner
-Stronghold has a great one against The Gentleman right before he throws boiling hot soup in his face.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome?from=Main.CrowningMomentOfAwesome
-All of the heroes get several of these through the arc.

Carmella's just about the friendliest as they come Very Happy

I think, as far as enemies go, there was a nice Kigo moment between Violet and Ultra Girl

Idea for an Ultra Girl story

http://zdemnstrongholdsuperhero.blogspot.com/2013/04/an-ultra-girl-story-switch.html

The person responsible for The Switch is, at first glance, a Myxy type of villain yet in actuality.

I have given it a start, it's just that, school and RL stuff, I've had to put a lot on the backburner.

questions

what inspired this story?

What was your favorite battle to write?

Did it start out this developed or was it originally a simple straight story>?

What inspired it was the low budget but nevertheless superhero movie: VS. All Superheroes Must Die.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjkyiC9GaeE
That and Arkham Asylum. Goddamn Batman baby. Cool
Really, it was an excuse to show just how badass Stronghold could be even without his powers and how far his training has brought him.

Favorite Battle.
For Stronghold, it was his fight with the first monster they battled in the underground area. Just an awesome team battle.
For the others, Ultra Girl vs Violet.

I had most of it planned out in my head before writing it, with a few alternate ideas.
1: Originally, Violet was going to be relaxing in a lawn chair in the middle of the street and smoking a joint. Ultra Girl shows up, Violet spits it out, throws the lawn chair at her, Ultra Girl tosses it aside and the fight starts.
2: Originally, the civilians he was rescuing were going to be in on it and turn on Stronghold just when he'd taken down the last psycho, beating the hell out of him before the powers came back and he tossed them away.....but I figured that would be too dark. Kinda ruin the point.
3: Originally, Stronghold would win against the second monster but then fall over from exhaustion and pain and his wounds. The guards would kick him around, hold the civilians hostage and then pick Stronghold up, preparing to execute him, with the powers coming back just in time. But......eh, I figured having Stronghold take down the monster with powers would make more sense, followed by the Justice Patrol beating down the guards.
4: Nemesis would be revealed to be one of the viewers, having watched to get information on the Justice Patrol and cover her tracks to escape. But I thought that would ruin the point of the ending.

Shades of Grey Universe(Pantheon)

The Avengers and Invincible(My favorite comic btw), with some Supernatural(There is a quote that was borrowed from Supernatural). Basically I just wanted to do a superhero universe thats outside of the CAU Universe

I like The Pantheon vs Warlock battle but my personal favorite was Dark Avenger vs Warlock

I did had an alternate idea in that this was supposed to be a rewrite of The Antagonist but then after writing that battle and the way the characters interacted I thought it would fit better as it's own universe instead of something thats related to The Antagonist as I find the characters freaking enjoyable to write. Especially the villain

Thanks man.

Interesting fact? The two monster men Stronghold fought at the end there? Game Master did indeed buy those from Nemesis.
