Legato wrote:Despite everything else The Governor is still more likable than compared to his comic version. I do question on if he will continue to live past this season. One one hand this would mean the series finally have an antagonist. On another hand if they kill him off would the quality of the show die down?

I think that's Hershel.

He just explained why TANT is going to be the most entertaining train wreck in history. Which is why it has my full support.

Warning: Spoilers to those who haven't seen the move or wanted to see the movie. Nothing too major but spoiler warning regardless.
I'm just glad it no longer has Marlon Wayans. Still bummed at how they treated Baroness and Scarlet. Mainly Baroness. If the director had just introduced a different Baroness, whose evil, with no explanation as to what happened to the other one then I would have been satisfied.

Legato wrote:Topic discussion. Villains. How should one properly dispatch a popular or a good villain?
I think a good villain should be treated like any good character. If one has to kill a villain off then let it be in a epic confrontation. Not something anti-climatic. For instance. The Joker's Death in Arkham City. If there were a way to kill the guy off for good that is a good way to go by it. Now I get the complaints but to be honest I don't care. The guy is a good villain to some and his exit should be pretty freaking grand and Arkham City provided that. Another example would be Vader and Palpatine's death in Return of The Jedi.
I'd even go as far as to include Lionel Luthor's death as a good one. As it opened the door to Lex's start of Darkness. At the end of the day a villains death should be treated like any regular characters death. With the respect it deserves. Otherwise it's just pointless. Especially, like a character death, a villain keeps returning from the dead every freaking time. Minor pet peeve of mine. Sure some work, like Barbosa from Pirates of the Caribbean or The Master. But sometimes it still doesn't hurt to kill off a villain character.

DBZ is actually pretty good about killing off villains, considering how cheap death is for everyone else there.

Abridged Tien makes a pretty good point about that during the Frieza Saga. Around ep 30

An interesting note is that the characters become almost scarily blase about death during the Buu arc.
Piccolo: "We need to buy time so Goten and Trunks can finish training. Hey Buu, please go and wipe out the rest of humanity. We have Dragonballs anyway."
Buu's response.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqjA7TXqGzM
Gohan vs Super Buu: "This pink sonnova b-ch killed all my friends, my MOTHER? My GIRLFRIEND? I AM GOING TO RIP YOU APA-huh? Oh, hey, Dende's still alive. Cool, we can wish everyone back."
Goku: "I'll play around with Fat Buu even though I'm the only one who can beat him right now so Goten and Trunks can save the world instead."
I love DBZ and the folks therin but.....it's...rather sociopathic.
