Should Auld Acquaintance
Universe: Marvel/CAU
Characters: Deadpool and Death
Canon: Yep

The universe you are witnessing resembles that of the marvel universe but of a different universe than the Marvel/CAU one. In this universe it once fell victim to an rampaging maniac but un unlikely hero helped save the universe and the populace within it. The oppressor's deeds have been undone and forgotten and the heroes and citizens and even the villains are all waiting in anticipation for the new year.

In times square the heroes and the citizens celebrates as the dawn of the new year approaches. Two figures stands among them celebrating the new year.

"I never get tired of this. It's even better when you're wasted but I have another job to do back home so drinking light" Deadpool says to Death as they watches the ball shine brightly

Deadpool looked amongst the crowd and sees who Death was waving at he raised his glass at the pair in acknowledgement

Franklin and Valeria Richards, grown up in this timeline, dressed in civilian attire. Franklin smiled then nods at him then continues celebrating the new year with Valeria. Only they know of his good deed and they'll never forget it

Timeline: Four years prior to Quantum, Artemis is 13 in this



On the passenger side Artemis glances out the window watching the ocean pass by as Song drives across a very long bridge to who knows who knows where. The radio plays and while not really a music type and has find Songs taste in music questionable this particular song, she admits, is rather soothing. Song never is the kind that would sing to the lyrics, if there is a song that he enjoys he'd listen to it silently. As if a certain personal gesture of respect towards the artist of the music. Has no personal qualms on others singing with the music though.

Artemis glances to the backseat to see a rather large, black duffle bag. Song mentions that where they're going is a surprise so Artemis left it at that. A lot of theories ring in her head as she glances out at the window and listens to the music. Weaponry for a take out(code term for an assassination mission), yet two possibilities that throws that theory out the window. 1. Song is in civilian attire and his choice in attire is about as questionable as his music.



If it's a mission he'd be in his usual attire.

2. He'd never include her on a take out, unlike a couple she knew. Which is one of the things she admires about him.

At the Boating Pier

"So Kiddo, what do you think?" Song asked standing before a luxury Yacht



"It's a beauty. This yours?" Artemis asked then Song nods"Could be yours too someday"

"This is why you brought me here?" Artemis asked

Song puts down the duffle bag then unzips it" Part of it" he opens it up and he hands Artemis a fishing pole "Taking advantage of my vacation time by doing what any responsible parental/guardian figure would do. I'm taking you fishing" He said while pulling out a fishing pole of his own and carries it and the bag in both hands"

Artemis was stunned by this but she followed Song to the boat" Would you teach me how to steer the boat when we're done fishing?"

Song smiled"That can be arranged"

Up on the moon, Bandora gripped her staff as she observed the Rangers battle with her Minotaur. "I see Zordon has provided you Rangers with new weapons. Hmph, well don't think this battle's over yet!" She raised her staff up in the air and aimed it at the Earth. "Magic Wand, Make My Monster Grow!" She called out and threw her staff at the Earth.

Down in the city, the Power Rangers were wrapping up. "Hey there!" The Red Ranger said to Stone. "You guys alright? Sorry about the car."
"We're fine Red Ranger and thank you."
Jason nodded and walked over to his friends. They were interrupted by a mystical staff falling from the sky and stabbing into the ground. "Woah! Do you guys see that?" Billy asked.
"Tha-that's Bandora's staff!" Trini said.
Before they could make a move though red electricity shot out of the staff and into the ground. The city shook around them and the ground split open. Smoke flew out of the crevice as the Rangers tried to get their footing. As the smoke rose up to the sky, the Rangers heard a roar. "What the hell?" Sarah asked. "I thought we just blew him away!"
"It's the smoke!" Billy realized. "Whatever that smoke is, a combination of that and Bandora's magic has revived the monster and increased it's size!"
This was proven correct when the smoke cleared away and the ground closed back up, revealing the giant sized Minotaur.
"So we got another giant, let's take him guys! We need DINOZORD POWER NOW!" Jason called out.
The Zords arrived and combined up into the Megazord and it marched over to the Minotaur. The Minotaur and the Megazord grappled and pushed each other.

The head of the Megazord glowed and fired bolts of energy down at the Minotaur, sparking the monster and then the Megazord swung the monster threw the air and it hit the ground hard, causing a small quake. The Minotaur rolled along the ground and then stood up and roared, firing bolts from it's horn along with a stream of fire from it's mouth. The combined powers of the attacks caused explosions around the Megazord, rocking the Rangers inside it's head. The Megazord was pushed backwards by the attacks. "Ahhh man, this thing's intense!" Sarah yelled out. "Then let's cool him off with the Mastodon Shield!" Zack replied and pressed the buttons, summoning the Mastodon Shield to the Megazord's hand. The Megazord raised the shield and the trunk of the Mastodon fired the cold spray and advanced forward, putting out the Minotaur's flames and firing it's cranium laser at the same time, blasting the monster back. The Megazord reached it and punched the monster hard in the face and then smacked it with it's shield in the chest, sending it down to the ground. The Minotaur kicked up at the giant machine and made it stumble backwards. The Minotaur clapped it's hands together and raised them up. In a red flash of light the monster's war hammer appeared in it's hands. The monster then swung the hammer at the Megazord's chest and knocked the Megazord backwards through the air. The Megazord landed on it's feet and the monster was already charging it and swung the hammer up at the robot, knocking it backwards again. The Megazord fell down onto it's back. The monster roared in victory and slammed the war hammer down on the Megazord's chest. Before it could bring the hammer down again though the Megazord kicked up at it, knocking the monster backwards. The Rangers then summoned the Power Sabre which flew down from the sky and slashed the monster's arm as it did. The monster roared and held it's chest. The Megazord stood up and grabbed the sword out of the ground and was charged up with the power of it's sword. The Minotaur and the Megazord marched towards each other again. The Minotaur started to charge up it's war hammer and the Megazord did the same with it's sword. The monster stomped forward and swung the hammer as hard as it could. The Megazord slashed downwards with it's charged up sword. There was a flash of light that emitted from the two weapons clashing together and an explosion of power. When it cleared, the Minotaur was flung backwards through the air and hit the ground, it's war hammer laying on the ground in pieces. The Megazord then slashed again as the Minotaur was getting up, sending the slash across the distance between them and cutting the monster in half. The monster's pieces fell to the ground and exploded, destroying the Mighty Minotaur for good.
"YEAH! That's how we do it!" Trini cheered. The Rangers celebrated.

Up on the moon, Bandora grabbed her head as she got another headache. "This isn't over, I will destroy you all next time! Ohhhh my head!"

Issue #1: Galactic Knights: Defenders of the Universe


Planet Florin in Space Sector 1140

A battle taken place as the city population is being invaded by marauding space pirates. The Space Pirates in particular consist of giant alien beings that resemble humanoid T-Rex with their armor partially resembling sayin armor. The citizens of Florin, resembling humanoid praying mantis have managed to flee thanks to the assist of two members of the Galactic Knight . One of them is Valeria, a veteran Galactic Knight official. She and a fellow Galactic Knight are assigned to protect the city from the invasion.

She is greeted with a armada of Giant Hover Tanks that fired missiles at Valeria. Her eyes glowed then she outstretched her hand, the missiles that were shot at her glowed then stopped. She turned them around then fired the missiles back at the hover tanks.

On land some foot soldiers are being engaged by a Galactic Knight named Ka’Xur who greeted the foot soldiers with a hover tank as he swatted each of them. Ka’Xur while a fellow Galactic Knight who has been mentored by Valeria. In time their relationship went from teacher and student to partners. Ka’Xur, with a loud yell, blasted the space pirate troops away

In the air an aerial battle between the hover tank armada and Valeria still occurs. She used her duel energy construct battle ax and hacked the Hover Tanks into pieces.

The battle went on for hours, by nightfall the remaining space pirates have surrendered. Valeria and Ka’Xur have restraints on them and their leader. The invasion has ended and the citizens have been saved.

Next Issue: The Peacekeeping Council

Issue #2: The Peacekeeping Council

Orin is one of the oldest planets of the universe and serves as a home for a race of powerful orange humanoid alien beings who are apart of the council known as the Peacekeeping Council. The Peacekeeping Council administer the Galactic Knights. A powerful group of universal police/military officers sworn to maintain peace and justice throughout the universe.

Ka’Xur and Crux, both members of the Galactic Knights, waited outside the Temple of the Peacekeepers. As tradition Non-Peacekeeper personnel aren’t permitted in while the trials are going on, they are both anxious as to find out if Katori made it as a member of the council. Valeria is with Baal Vicious in getting information from the Space Pirate leader


A new member stood before the council and gets ready for the induction

“Do you swear to uphold the responsibilities of the council?” One of the council elders asked the newest member

“I swear!” The newest member answered
“Do you swear that whatever decisions you make would be to preserve the peace?” The elder asked

“I swear” The new member said with determination

“And do you Katori swear to cast aside personal ambition and pledge yourself only to the good of the universe?” The elder member asked

“I swear!” Katori said

After many trials that tested her physical and mental capabilities as Peacekeeper Katori anxiously awaits for the council’s decision

Outside the temple the doors open, Ka’Xur and Crux looked at the person coming out, Katori embraced both Ka’Xur and Crux who both hugged her in return. They both let go, Katori looked at them and smiled” I did it I’m a member of the council”

Next Issue: A sparring session and the mastermind behind the attack is revealed


Issue #3: Class In Session


The opening focus on a interrogation scene at Klaxon, a holding station where some of the most dangerous criminals that the Galactic Knights captured are held, we see the leader of the space pirates who invaded Florin interrogated by Bhal Vicious. A veteran of the Galactic Knights. Vicious continues probe information out of Lyx as to who hired them to attack the planet. Lyx continues to fight off Vicious’s interrogation methods that matches his namesake but given a up close examination to Lyx’s face one could see his strong resolve is wavering.

We cut to Crux and Ka’Xur sparring in the Galactic Knights training grounds with Star Knight supervising them. Both of them are in their respective training uniforms for the session. The two exchanged some friendly banter before we cut to Star Knight who signaled the two to begin.

Crux and Ka’Xur begin their fight, it wasn’t anything fancy, mostly the two displaying the skills that they have learned since being recruited by the Galactic Knights. Crux’s style is more aggressive, attacking Ka’Xur with a volley of punches, Ka’Xur complements in how Crux has improved his speed , Crux responded with a smirk and did a fake to Ka’Xur’s stomach but did a spin back fist to the side of Ka’Xur’s head, while Ka’Xur blocked he definitely felt the impact of that one. He collects himself and cautiously circling until he gives a short cry and launches a furious attack. The two didn’t know how long their sparring session went as they are both into the competitive nature behind the session that the length of time they spent didn’t matter.

They both had came into the Galactic Knights for different reasons but no matter what brought them to where they are they both had a similar purpose.

The session concluded when Crux countered a punch that Ka’xur thrown and he flipped him on the mat. With a knee to the side of Ka’Xur’s head and twisting his arm and leaning backward a little Crux looks at Star Knight who signaled the session over. Crux helped Ka’Xur up and boasted on how his training with Vicious actually paid off. Ka’Xur rolled his eyes and punches him on the shoulder as they go change in the locker room.

Valeria approached Star Knight, she criticized in that they both were holding back during the session. Star Knight pointed that given that it is a training session they don’t have to get serious. Valeria counter pointed the purpose in Vicious assigning Crix and Ka’Xur to spar each other is to get used to the idea in that there will come a time that they will have no choice but to and friendship must be set aside for the importance of survival.

In Klaxon Vicious calls off the interrogation to talk to him about the definition of expendability. Vicious knows of Lyx’s compassion to his men and mentions to him that while he can withstand his interrogation he knows his crew wont and that there is a possibility that some of them wont make it. One way or another he will get the info he needs out of Lyx. Vicious considers Lyx’s men expendable as their leader holds the key to the identity of the person who hired him since Lyx was the only one who chatted with the person personally.. Lyx breaks down and reveals the name of the person who hired Lyx to attack Florin. Grun



Issue #4: Reminisce

We open to a event that happened years ago, which happens to be the most important event in Ka'Xur's life. Within the confines of a spaceship that’s big enough to carry a colony of people it shook violently as it's trying to escape the eye of the storm that is the impending destruction of planet Scion. There's a POV shot from an infant that is being held fiercely by a humanoid looking female, she is weakened from the fatal injuries that she received before being rescued but she still retained enough strength to protect her child from harm. She calls out to somebody while she's holding her child in the infirmary to send someone in. She's close to knocking on death's door but she takes a tearful look at her son then said to a shadowy figure approaching her. She looks at the figure and we get these final words from her to the mysterious figure "Please....take care of my son"

The infant turned around to look at the person that her mother was talking to but all we get is a shadowy image followed by a loud booming sound.

Ka'Xur shot up from his bed, drenched in sweat. We are in the present time and Ka'Xur has just received another recurring dream about the events surrounding his infanthood. He looked up at his window and hears the rain mixed with the thunder and lightning, in which doesn't improve his situation at all. He lays back down, sleep is far from his mind as he just waits the storm out. Once the thunder and lightning is over all that’s left is the hard rain. A flash in his mind made him think back to the sound of the planet debris striking the ship he was in during that day, he sighs then gets up. He makes his way down to the training hall to see if some unofficial training would tire him out.


At the GK Zero Gravity Training Room Ka’Xur sees Crux training with several training drones, floating orb shaped drones. They are at a level that’s a little higher than normal given that their reaction time and defense when dealing with attacks directed at them is more sharper than set at a novice setting. Despite Crux’s size his acrobatic skills and cunning survival skills prove effective against the Drones. Smashing two of them together as his feet clamps on the ceiling. We are then cut to a flashback scene involving Crux and Ka’Xur’s first meeting.

GK Main Training Grounds
Many years ago

We see Crux, who is around 10, in earth years but due to his species lifespan he’s around 20, at this flashback, being escorted to the grounds by Vicious who then introduced him to Ka’Xur, he’s around the same age, earth age, as Crux. Ka’Xur and Crux around this flashback are Jun’s( A title that is granted towards a Galaxy Knight in training).

Vicious discovered Crux when he was scouting the planet Vilgax 7, a planet that’s known for harboring some really hostile aliens and shady drifters and is deemed as one of the most dangerous planets in existence. Crux was a thief when he lived on that planet and was caught trying to steal Vicious’s sword. Vicious, instead of turning him in decided to take him under his care and mold him into a upstanding member of the Galaxy Knights. The way Vicious sees it for Crux it’s better than the other alternatives, one of them is doing runs for some crime lord.

Crux was then unexpectedly introduced by Tiara, princess of the planet Chitari, who then appeared before him in a blink of an eye. Provided the usual name introduction even though Crux was still comprehending her sudden appearance when he didn’t see her on the training grounds. Ka’Xur was pretty much used to Tiara’s, whose about a year younger than the two, abrupt greeting questioned Tiara if she had finished her sparring session. Tiara kicked herself as she remembered she was still in a sparring session then bid Crux farewell before she return. She was still in mid battle during the session then returned and proceeded as usual.



Because Ka’Xur was Jun longer than Crux he’s partnered up with him to show him the ropes. The two became inseparable since then especially when it came to defending Crux from other Jun’s when they were picking on Crux because of where he came from..

During a marching exercise the two of them noticed Katori among her fellow Ari‘s, when a member of Katori’s race has The Gift they become apart of a group called the Aris who are trained to become future members of The Peacekeeping Council, should they pass a series of trials. Members of the GK aren’t allowed to socialize with them. Least not till they’ve graduated as members of the Peacekeeping Council. But Katori, Crux and Ka’Xur usually finds a way to socialize in secret

We cut to the present day of Crux and Ka’Xur, who are now Paldians, a rank of apprentice to a Galaxy Knight that an older Galaxy Knight recruit is granted. Ka’Xur tells Crux about the dreams he keeps on having that involved the destruction. Crux wonders if he has talked to anyone about this then Ka’Xur responded that he has talked with Star Knight, whenever he isn’t busy, and those sessions with him are pretty rare. Crux is the only one outside of Knight he mentions about the dreams. While Crux isn’t much of a consoling type he tries to provide Ka’Xur comfort to the fact that at least the people he knew there would be happy that he’s still alive and doing well. That and noted the fact that they’re going to be Knighted soon. It did provide Ka’Xur some comfort and he thanked Crux before he returned to his room and went back to sleep.

Elsewhere on planet Kinyssa Space Sector 1257

No form of life on the planet was safe. You can hear the sounds of the screams echoing over the chaos and destruction. We see a figure struggles to get up from the ground, he’s then kicked on his back. The guy is ret in color and had about four arms and six eyes. He cough’s up blue blood but he points his weapon at the shadow looming over him but his arm is kicked away, followed by the weapon.

“I see you Knights are still defiant to the end”

We see the face that belonged to the voice speaking to the fallen Galaxy Knight, Grun, The Scourge of The Universe. Raises his hand then drives it trough the Knight’s chest, the Knight yells then Grun brings the bloodied hand up. He looks up at the sky” The stars sure are nice tonight”

The Knight looked up and terror overtook him at the sight that he saw, he was knocking on death’s door but the last image he managed to see before darkness overtook him was the stars in the sky descending to the planet he was assigned to protect.

The Antagonist

Introduction

When you are sitting down and watching your favorite movie, anime, television show, or reading a comic, manga, or book that involves a villain who is squaring off against a hero do you sometimes ask yourself what if the villain won? That’s the kind of question I’d ask myself from time to time. Especially if the villain becomes interesting enough for me to raise that kind of question. There is also the question in why is it necessary that the good guy has to win all the time? One would assume it’s because it brings a sense of comfort because if said villain won then dark days would approach mankind. If The Kurgan from Highlander had won the prize against Conner mankind would suffer an eternity in darkness. Which is what Ramirez drives home to Conner and to the audience as to how important it is for The Kurgan to be defeated. Yes there are villains in which you want to root for the hero to defeat but sometimes there’s that nagging question. What if they didn’t win?

There have been stories that answered that question. Wanted in particular was about villains winning, Watchmen even introduced a interesting aspect in what if a villains schemes actually pulled off. The story in which you are about to see is also a take in that. Although unlike Wanted it doesn’t involve a group of people who would murder and rape to their hearts content. These people are flawed yes and they have committed acts that’s morally questionable but in a way even ones governments have committed morally questionable acts to ensure the protection of the world they live in. Does it make it right? No way but sometimes sacrifices have to be made to achieve ones goal. Do they get a happy ending out of this? They have a moments peace yes but soon they’ll find out there are bad guys that’s much worse than them.


Prologue
Calm Before The Storm

Ottawa

It was a perfectly normal day, the civilians were all doing their ordinary everyday lives just to get by. Then all things changed when a streak of fire came from the sky. Many assumed it was a comet flying over the earth's atmosphere till it started to maneuver and make it's way towards the city then there more just like it descended towards the city aswell. It was like Armageddon has arrived, nobody was safe from the destruction. When one of the objects from the sky descended from the ground it revealed a humanoid figure with dozens of razor-feathered wings, it's faceless and androgynous in appearance. The other objects flying around looked just the same in appearance. They each scouted the city completely destroyed and covered in flames.

Jimmy looked back down at the files. "$50,000.00. Up front. And another 10k when the job is done."
"Of course." McGregor said and snapped his fingers. Two men in suits offered him suitcases full of the money. Jim didn't even look at them. "Have it delivered to the usual place. I'll go get my team and we'll be off."

"Best of luck Jim."
"We don't need luck."
McGregor nodded and turned around to answer a phone call.

Later....
Jim rolled up to meet up with his team. Who were playing cards. "Yo JIM!" Kiva (the girl with black hair) called to him and threw a knife at him. Jim smirked and caught it, turned and threw it right back. She deflected it with her own knife and grabbed it and sheathed them both. She hi fived him as he walked over. "Nice moves man."
"Back at you."

Ginger was on the phone. "Yeah another long day. I should be home by the end of the month and I'll take you to the zoo. Pinky promise honey." She saw Jim. "Alright, look I'm going to be busy for a few days so I won't be able to call back alright? But I swear I'll call you back the moment I can. Okay, give your daddy a hug and a kiss for me sweetheart. I love you too." She hung up. "Sup?"

Gary, the big guy, shook his head. "You're going to have to tell your kid what you're really doing sooner or later."

"Not going to happen."

"It's for the best."

"No. She looks up to me. She thinks I'm a business woman." Ginger said. "It's better that way. Anyway, what's the job Jimbo?"

"Everyone gather around. We've got a big one."

As the team gathered up he explained the mission.

"So Gregor wants us to break into a military facility and eliminate a super soldier and any and all survivors of the attack?" Lewis, the brown haired guy asked.

"That's the sum of it, yeah."

"That isn't what we do. Slaughtering people like that I mean." Chris, Gary's brother with the black hair, pointed out.

"What's the pay?" Kiva asked.
"50K up front and another 10k when we're done."

"Hoooboy. He must really want this kept quiet."

"We can split that up nicely."

"It stinks."

"Exactly. We'll play along but if we find any survivors, we protect them and we get a clear answer on this. I want to know what the hell is really going on." Jimmy said.

"Rodger that. Are we bringing in the masks?"

"The masks, grenades, heavy artillery, all of it. I am not taking risks on this."
"SIR!"

Later, they were all armored up and on a private jet to the facility.

Arriving, they saw that, from the outside at least, it was in good condition. "So what now?" Ginger asked. "Do we blow it down?"

"As much as fun as that would be, let's try the easy way. Gary?"

"On it." Gary pulled out a cryptographer and sat down and worked with it until he cracked the code and got the door to open. "Viola!"
Chris patted his brother on the back and they walked in. It didn't take long to see that all of the lights were out, so they switched on the night vision of their helmets. Continuing into the facility, they came upon a rather shocking sight. "What the f-k?!"

"Are you guys seeing this?" Jim asked.
"What could do something like this?" Ginger asked.
"Must be that soldier thing we were told about." Gary said.
"Alright, everybody stay close and keep quiet." Jim said. The two walked down the hallway slowly, going from room to room and searching for signs of life but they found nothing but blood and entrails. "God.....what the hell is this guy?"
"Just-just keep moving." Jim said as they continued on. As they continued further it was the same. Shards of broken glass littering the ground, bullet holes in the walls, hand prints on the wall. Whatever had happened, it was obvious there was a fight and that the guards here had lost. "I don't like this." Ginger said. "We should call for backup."
"Don't wimp out on us. We've seen worse." Kiva snapped.
"Cool it you two."
Lewis turned around. "What is it?!" Chris asked.
"I heard something."
"What? Where?" The team took firing positions. "It-it was right behind us but-" They looked around. "Dammit I know I heard something!"
"There's nothing there. Now come on." Jim said. "Lewis!"
"I know there was something there...." He stared into the blackness before following them.
As they went deeper, Chris spotted something on the wall. "The hell.....t-take a look at this!"
The team gathered around and saw what he was looking at.

"What....could have done this? Some kind of claw weapon?"
Jim rubbed his finger along one of the claw marks. "I don't think so....it looks like whatever did this has claws. That could explain how it did all this..."
"Oh good, now it has claws!"
"Ginge!"
"What? You were thinking it too."
They heard a noise and immediately stood back up. The team stood quietly for a few minutes before advancing. Still nothing. As they continued deeper into the facility, down tunnels and corridors, they passed a door and heard a sound behind it: Crying. Somebody behind the door was crying and sobbing. Ginger stepped back and pressed a button on her helmet. There was confirmation of life signs behind the door. "Sir! We have a survivor!"
"Get it open!"
Gary knelt down and did his thing and then backed up with the others. They were prepared to fire.....until they saw who was behind it. A crying, blood splattered, traumatized woman rocking back and forth. Upon closer observation, they saw she had claw marks down her face.

Jim signaled for his team to stand down and approached her cautiously. "Excuse me, ma'am?"
The woman looked up at him and screamed in horror. "NOOO! NO! NO MORE! PLEASE! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE! PLEASE! PLEASE!" She started backing herself up and shielded herself with her hands. "Ma'am, ma'am please, we're not here to hurt you. Look...look...." Jim set down his gun. "See? I'm putting my weapon down. We're soldiers. We're here to help. Can you please tell us what happened?"
The woman, still trembling, looked up at them for a few moments before slowly reaching out and taking his hand and stepping out of the room with him. "Alright, see? We're the good guys. My name is Jim. This is my team: Ginger, Kiva, Gary, Chris and Lewis. We're the Wolfpack. Can you tell us your name?"
"M-m-mmmm....moll....Moll...Molly."
"It's very nice to meet you Molly. Now, can you tell us what happened here?"
"We tried to play God......this...." She looked at the hell around them. "This is what happened." Suddenly something occured to her. "Wait....you...you...h-how...how did you get in?"
"We hacked the door and-"
Molly grabbed Gary. "Did you lock the door?! Please....please tell me you were smart enough to lock the damn door!"
"Well, yeah, of course. Why?"
"It can't get out! Do you understand? No matter what, it cannot escape to the outside world!"
"It?" Chris stepped forward. "This isn't a person?"
"Person? A-a person? It's not even f-ing HUMAN!"
The Wolfpack stared at each other for a moment. That settled it: They had been set up.
"Miss Molly....what is this 'thing' you're talking about?"
Molly hugged herself. "We-we wanted....we tried....to-to...to replicate...her."
"Her? Her who?"
"Morpha. We-we wanted....to create one of our own....the first in a series of super soldiers for the government. At least....that was the plan. I obtained a sample of her body during a super villain battle. We tried to understand it, to replicate it and make our own......it went wrong....it all went so wrong...it got loose.......did this. I barely had time to lock myself inside that door and I heard everyone scream and yell and bleed and die!" She broke down sobbing.
Jim put his hand on her shoulder. "Come on get up. We're getting the f-k out of here."
"Sir?"
"You heard her, this thing was made from Morpha. I doubt we can even hurt it with the weapons we have. We'll get out, seal the place back up, call the heroes and let THEM deal with it. Our priority now is to get her out of here and go home alive!"
"SIR YES SIR!" The team saluted and Jim and Kiva helped her up. "Can you walk? Can you run?"
Molly nodded.
"Alright, keep up!" The soldiers and the wounded scientist ran back up the way they came.
Proceeding down a hallway, they heard a noise and then green goo fell down from the ceiling. "No...nooo....i-it...it found us!"
The soldiers stared as the green goo started gathering together and took on a humanoid shape.

Once it had finally finished, the monster's all too human dollike face grinned at them.
"FIRE!" Jim yelled and the team opened fire with souped up semi-automatics. The bullet's tore through the monster as the soldier's shot it apart and kept shooting at the goo on the ground, kept shooting until Jim signaled for them to stop. As soon as they stopped shooting however, the creature came right back together and held out a hand, it's palm facing downwards. The bullets they had fired were moved through it's body and dropped out of it's hand onto the ground harmlessly.
"And now we run?" Ginger asked.
"Yes. NOW!" The team turned and ran for it as the monster gave chase.

Eeeh. Nothing personal or anything Guy but the NuCAU RPG still needs some time to develop before we get to the big arcs. Besides I don't see the heroes quaking in fear and such. That and it's a little too close to the Dracula Arc but more science than supernatural and even with that the heroes are handling it with little to no worries. Interesting pitch and had it be any universe I'd be all or it but I don't think NuCAU is ready for the story arc yet. Maybe when things are fully developed in NuCAU we could go back to this but for now I'm usually on just building NuCAU.

Once again mean no disrespect towards it. Just that I have other projects going on and am trying to get back into the Dracula Arc so I cant afford another big arc right now. Hope you understand where I'm coming from with this

I never said that the heroes would quake in fear, and these guys are just badass normal mercenaries really, this story is just to introduce a big bad for Morpha down the line. After all, it can be kinda difficult coming up with an evil counterpart for her.

“How about this one?” Eve presented her an evening dress for her dinner meeting tonight.

Dr.Insidious examined the dress then gave a disgusted expression “Eve, I'm not trying to sleep with the guy.” she said then continued to browse through her wardrobe. Both Eve and Dr.Insidious are in a large white room with rows and rows of evening dresses they are choosing. It's a pocket dimension that Dr.Insidious created to provide more space in her bedroom closet.

Eve examined the dress, not seeing what the big deal concerning it” Why do you still keep it?”

“My taste wasn't keen as it is now. Remind me to disintegrate it tomorrow” Dr.Insidious said then Eve nods and puts it up, she present Dr.Insidious another green evening dress. She smiled then nods in approval” Now lets focus on you. We need something stunning but elegant. I already have Fulcrum's suit laid out for him”

Eve looked at her in surprise” We're coming along also?” Dr.Insidious shook her head in response”No. There is an opera show at The Palais Garnier that starts an hour after my dinner meeting. No objections, after that whole issue in Venice you guys need a relaxing time together. Same goes with the rest of the team which is why Trick Shot, Doughboy, Sword Ronin, and Sugar Rush are on a outing. Don't want you and Fulcrum to be the only ones not having fun.”

“Thanks” Eve blushed at the prospect of an evening with Fulcrum

Dr.Insidious is sitting at a restaurant, the dress that she wore for the meeting is captivating. She has been to this part of the country before but the view is still breathtaking. It currently is a nice distraction from the anxiety she's feeling. While she has met her share of high Labyrinth officials at the resort this one however is one of the officials that could make or break her chance in fulfilling her goal. One miscalculation then everything she has worked for that led up to this point would be gone. Someone approaches her table” Excuse me madam. Is this seat taken?”a familiar yet strange, deeply elegant voice asked before her.

Dr.Insidious smiled then stood up”Not at all, you know how to make an entrance”

X smiled then took Dr.Insidious's hand gently then kissed it” From what I've heard and seen personally you have a knack for the theatricals yourself” the two sat down.




During the majority portion of the dinner X and Dr.Insidious have both enjoyed their dinner and things have been going pretty well, which is a relief on Insidious's part. She also discovers a few interesting things about X. From the non-scary versions of what she's heard about him he's usually the no smiles and all seriousness type. Yet here he's all smiles and conversing with her. In a way it's like he's a completely human individual when compared to the stories she's heard about him. Of course in her “off the clock” conversations with Nemesis even she has her human moments.

They even share a few laughs, especially one that involved her battle with Power Woman.

It was in an underground tunnel in Besieger, Germany. Insidious and Power Woman had another one of their legendary fights. Except this time it was different. To this day she still doesn't know if it was her full dedication or Power Woman had an off day but all she remembers was that was the one fight that she managed to last a little longer than she does in her previous fights. When it was all over they both realized the situation they are currently in.

“So I pointed out to her, look we are both attractive females, half naked, and covered in mud. So if we are going to fight then we might aswell find some people that are into this sort of thing and charge admission” Insidious said X smiled in amusement at the story” Despite how things ended up that must have been your proudest moment. Not many can go toe to toe with her.”

“It's as close to a crowning achievement against her as I can have” Dr.Insidious said

“Considering that you're still standing in your many battles is a big achievement.” X said

“Point. You know the best part about that story? I even made Power Woman laugh at that charging admission comment” Dr.Insidious said

At the masquerade ball, both Insidious and X danced on the dance floor” You gave quite an impression at the resort last week” X says to Insidious as he kept waltzing with her in perfect rhythm and synchronization, unable to take his eyes off hers” Thats good to know. What about you? I hear you can be hard to impress.” She says not keeping her eyes off her dance partner” Cant just invite anyone as a member of Labyrinth. I usually have to see the potential in someone before I agree that they're qualified.” X said to Insidious as he studied her movements. She was a good dancer. Never missing a beat. That thought made a faint smile appear on the corner of his lips. Insidious caught that and smiled in return” So am I qualified?”

“You're close, however there is one more thing you have to accomplish” X said and Insidious tilted her head curiously” Whats that?”

“A heinous act, a show of force, a murder would be nice, of course." X said to Insidious “The kind that would put even the heroes on notice”

Insidious kept her emotions on a casual state, something that her parents and Nicodemus taught her. Always guard emotion, especially when it comes to the eyes. While your body reacts a certain way the eyes tell a different story. Keeping yourself completely guarded prevents others from reading you like a book

“You are given time to take this into consideration. And I can assure you that Labyrinth isn't the kind of organization that would kill you if you don't take the request. So whatever you decide, we hold no ill will towards it” X said then the music stops, the both of them stopped dancing then X took her hand again then kissed it for the last time” Thanks for a rather, enjoyable evening”


At Paladia's place Paladia is sleeping on her bed, Insidious is sitting next to her bed looking like she is lost in thought. Paladia's eyes open then she jumps” For crying out loud Bella!!! How many times I've got to tell you? It's creepy!!”

She requested for the light on and sees Dr.Insidious, still in her evening attire” You're one of the few people I can confide to”

Paladia rubs the sleep away from her eyes then got up out of bed” Come on. I'll fix us some herbal tea. Great remedy to calm the nerves”

At the kitchen both Paladia and Insidious was drinking some herbal tea” So wheres? Aida?” Insidious asked and Paladia responded” Hanging out with Captain Nemesis” Insidious looked at her in an expression that reads(Get out!!) then Paladia nods” Gotten rather friendly since the resort. They're on a trip to Saturn. On a vacation/exploration since they want to find out the source of the sound coming from there”

Insidious shrugged” It started out as a dinner meeting then I suppose it kinda evolved into one from the way we enjoyed the evening. The person I had a meeting with is a Labyrinth official”

Paladia startied to piece together why Insidious was in a mood, she asked Insidious ”Was the, whatever it is, good?”

“It was enjoyable, despite a few things. Just to let you know. I now have one more obstacle to do before I officially become a Labyrinth member” Insidious frowned at that last part then informed her of Labyrinth's request” They gave me time to think about it.” Her hand gripped the cup” In my whole career I never killed a single innocent. Not even give them a fate worse than death scenario”

“Which in turn makes you better than Nemesis” Paladia pointed out

“Still I've wanted to become a member of Labyrinth ever since I was a kid. I cant just give up on my life's goal” Insidious said then Paladia placed her hand ontop of Insidious's” Sometimes you have to ask yourself. Is it worth destroying who you are? Besides you can do like I do and use your science for good things”

Insidious didn't respond, she mostly just contemplated what Paladia said. She finally spoke to say” Just wondering. If I do take upon that act, how would that affect us?”

“It wouldn't change a thing. I would still try to save you.” Paladia said then Insidious nods” Whatever happens. I will never go after your daughter” Paladia nods” Same concerning Eve”

Dr.Insidious gets up then Paladia spoke”Just you know, if you do follow the request. I will do what I must to stop you.” Insidious nods” I know you will. Good night Adia, thanks for the tea” she said then left.
